About Me

Dr. Aaron Tragos originally wanted to follow in the footsteps of his uncle Vic Kristopaitis, who played for the San Francisco 49ers. However, he suffered a torn ACL while playing, thus ending his football career. It was then Dr. Aaron Tragos decided to go into medicine and focus on orthopedic surgery due to the archaic orthopedic treatment at the time.

He earned his BS in biology and chemistry from Atlantic Union College, where he graduated summa cum laude. He went on to earn a doctor of osteopathic medicine from Western University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Aaron Tragos worked as an orthopedic surgeon in sports medicine for the Munson Orthopedic clinic in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, from 2011-2016. Some of his notable surgeries for the clinic have included ACL and PCL reconstructions. He also worked to repair sports or combat related injuries to the shoulders, ankles, and knees. He refined implementation of cartilage repair techniques to include juvenile cartilage re-surfacing techniques or large allograft transplants to restore joint function.

Dr.Tragos was instrumental in bringing Platelet Rich Plasma treatment for orthopedic pathology as well as stem cell treatment. Cutting edge non-operative treatment for soldiers with injuries sustain while being deployed or in their rigorous training. These are the same treatments that are afforded professional athletes to undertake to yield longevity to their careers.

In his free time Dr. Tragos enjoys traveling, and has been to 49 of the 50 United States. He is an avid cook, and loves to prepare healthy food in the form of low-sodium and low-fat dishes. Even with all his athletic injuries he still spends ample time with physical training. After all, how can you treat athletic injuries it you do not have that first hand experience yourself.
